Breathe Bhutan 2017

10 days in the Land of the Thunder Dragon

6-15 Feb

Bhutan is nestled between China and India and is a land as unique as you will ever find. We keep wanting to return so the opportunity to create an added option to the Nepal Volunteer Project took no time to consider at all! Get a feel for the spirituality of Buddhism that threads its way into everyday life. Watch the mists swirl as they reveal breathtaking mountains and if you are lucky a fine dusting of snow on the high passes will add to the beautiful scenery that continues throughout the country.

The chanting of morning prayers in the temples, shy smiles from the children, exploring ancient village paths, getting blessed by the monks, sipping steaming hot tea by the stove and walking to the precariously perched monastery that is Tiger’s Nest will simply leave you energised and keen to explore this mystical place further.

Traditional villages untouched, visit monasteries, breathe the clearest air on the dramatic mountain tops, spin some prayer wheels, view mountain ranges, learn about Gross National Happiness, stroll around majestic fortresses, see traditional weaving, visit remote homes, yak with a yak, walk alongside crystal rivers, try some local food, watch out for the endangered Black Necked Crane or you might like to take a traditional hot stone bath. This is a special chance to journey to one of the truly fascinating destinations in the world.
